Let me make this very, very clear.
First of all, this is the internet. There's /always/ going to be that annoying jerk that makes fun of everyone for laughs because they really just don't care. For us, we have quite a few of those people, one of them being Stealth. I still have yet to decide if Stealth is just trying to have fun, or if he really is just a soulless excuse for a human being. (Don't take it too personally Stealth, but you have agreed in the past that you are quite the ass. If I really have to put a disclaimer here to make sure I don't suddenly have people thinking I hate Stealth, then I'll say that yes, I quite love playing with Stealth, because unlike most people, I can take the heat, as well as dish it out.)
Next up, Ninja, you dish out just as much sly remarks, insults, and jeers as Stealth. Regardless of whether you admit it, you do. Unlike Stealth, however, you don't so much say it to them as announce to the server that you think the person is an idiot. The biggest difference between you and Stealth is that while Stealth does it to literally everyone to get a good laugh, you do it simply because you're angry or have a grudge against someone.
Thirdly... don't feed the trolls. Surely you've been on the internet long enough to know this.
Sir Fourthington, idle threats of leaving the server, never to return, do nothing in the end but lose the respect of your fellow community members. More than one mod has already lost their position by constantly leaving and showing similar signs of immaturity.
FINALLY, back to the original point of this post. This is something I need to address with ALL mods/admins/mini-mods/respecteds. Stop. Playing. Favorites. You have power, you can gag/kick/ban/etc whoever you want, because there aren't any real ways of telling you not to, other than to simply tell you to stop. (Not you as in you, you as in all of the moderating staff.) Your job as a moderator is to remain calm and unbiased, no matter what. No. Matter. What. Lost your T round to an RDM'er? Wah. Get over it. Don't sit there and rage and permanently ban that person. You are to abide by the rules at all times.
If you are finding someone annoying in the chat, you can do one of two things. Either... A) Mute them on your own client. Seriously, it's really not that difficult to mute people you don't like. B) Call for a vote to gag the person. If the person is obviously harassing someone or just being an annoying little twat in general, then the vote should easily go through. Worst case scenario, the vote fails, and you're forced to mute them. Oh noes.
